Buzzing Our Way Through Spring!!

Wow!! We have been busy little bees over the past month or so!  After Spring Break, the friends from Room 5 came back ready to finish this year on a bright note!  Can you believe we only have 30 days of school left?  There is still a lot of work to be done.  Take a look at what we will be working on in the upcoming weeks!!

Readers Workshop

The soon-to-be 2nd graders are becoming the best readers they can be!  We are working hard on all of our comprehension strategies.  Noting details, discussing cause and effect, and making predictions are all important areas to focus on when you are reading with your child.  Please remember the value of discussing stories with your little one.  

        Writers Workshop 

You might be noticing your child buttering you up over the next few weeks, trying to convince you to do something for him or her.  That's because we are working on Persuasive Writing.  The class will be stating an opinion about something.  They are learning to give valid reasons as to why someone should agree with their argument.  This is sure to be a lot of fun!! 

  We will also be participating in an Author Study on Mem Fox.
