This morning, our class was lucky enough to get to watch the inauguration of President Barack Obama. The students were very excited to see the millions of people gathered in Washington D.C. today. We do not often get a chance to talk about our nation's government, so it was nice to inform them of this very special ceremony that took place. The children were fascinated by the events as they unfolded.
The students loved the idea that two girls around their age were getting to live in the White House. That initiated a lot of questions regarding the perks of being a President. However, I reminded the children what a difficult job the President faces. They knew that today was a historical day, one that they will remember for many years to come!
