In Math Investigations we have been working on a unit called Quilt Squares and Block Towns. The students have been working on identifying 2-d and 3-d shapes and discussing their properties. This week, the students planned and built their own towns, using Geoblocks and drawing shapes. They had to think about the needs of a town and decide which buildings to build. We discussed different buildings around our town. They had to talk about what shapes made up the buildings they have seen before they began to plan the buildings on their own. They all had so much fun doing this activity. Take a look at some of our towns!!
