Kindergarten Rocks!

Whew!!! We have made it through the first 15 days of Kindergarten! What fun we have had so far. The boys and girls in Room 30 have gotten into the groove of things and are now busy learners. Our day is filled with fun and educational activities that the kids are truly enjoying.

In reading, we have been focusing on concepts of print, noticing how we read from left to right. The students are improving their book handling skills, taking care of what they read every day.

Today we read "The Gingerbread Man". The boys and girls loved hearing this story. They were able to participate in a Shared Reading, acting like the main character when he says, "Run, run as fast as you can...." We had such a wonderful time listening to and retelling the story. Reading familiar tales like "The Gingerbread Man", "The Three Little Pigs" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" helps students work on their comprehension and retelling.

Please keep checking in to the site! I will be updating it much more, filling you in on many of the happenings in our room!

Thank you for all of your support during the start of this year! It is sure to be a good one!
