Welcome to 2009!!!

Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful break!  I know I did.  I hope you are ready to jump start a new year.  I was so pleased at how smoothly today went!  All of the students came back and got right back to work!  

We were busy readers today, focusing on cause and effect in our texts.  What happens in our stories?  Why do the events happen?  This is just another comprehension skill we are focusing on.  We are wonderful report writers, too!  The students are interviewing a friend, gathering and reporting pertinent pieces of information.  

The first grade classes will be doing the Flag Salute this Friday at 8:35.  Please come out to the courtyard and listen to our poems and songs!
